🩵The natural scenery of the Maldives is truly worth the long journey across the ocean to see. For my first trip to the Maldives, I chose Velaa Atoll, which is under the Banyan Tree brand. 🚤The seaplane ride to the island took 40 minutes, while the return trip took 70 minutes (with two stops to pick up passengers from other islands). The seaplane is very noisy, and there is a strong smell of gasoline during takeoff and landing, which is quite torturous for someone like me who gets motion sickness. ✨The scenery at Velaa Atoll met my expectations, and the snorkeling experience was excellent. The free snorkeling activities were well-organized, and the instructor was very responsible, helping everyone find fish and sea turtles. 🪄If you’re not a strong swimmer, make sure to borrow a life jacket from the dive center before heading out, as they won't provide one once you're at sea. The foreigners didn’t wear life jackets, which was quite impressive. 🍽️As for the meals, they were mediocre. The Western food didn't suit the tastes of Chinese guests. The three-course meals were served very slowly; without prompting, a meal would take at least an hour. 🌿The restaurant had no air conditioning, making lunch quite hot. If you choose a main course like steak that doesn't come with carbs, you might not feel full. The buffet on the main island offers more freedom.
