Malmö: A City with Zero Duplicate Buildings

Charming, cute, and delightfully quirky—this small city wins you over at every turn. Getting Around Size & Transport: The city is tiny, so walking is the best way to explore. For public transport (buses/trams), on-board ticket purchases aren’t allowed—you must buy tickets in advance via the Skånetrafiken app. Ticket Prices: Single-ride tickets, 24-hour passes (for Malmö city only), and cross-city tickets (Malmö-Lund) are detailed in the photos. For groups (2+ people), you get a 25% discount—great for traveling with friends/family! 🚌 Attractions: Affordable & Unique Low-Cost Highlights: Most attractions are free or cheap (usually just a few dozen SEK). There are barely any combined tickets—we only found one: a joint pass for Malmö Castle and the Submarine Museum. Form/Design Center & Modern Art Museum: Like other Nordic galleries, these spots are small but cozy. They often host workshops with various craft materials—feel free to stop and let your creativity run wild! 🎨 St. Peter’s Church (Sankt Petri Kyrka): Its all-white interior is elegant and serene—perfect for a quiet moment of admiration. ⛪ Malmö City Library: The layout is fantastic! You can gaze out at the nearby park through its tall glass walls—reading here feels like a retreat. 📚 Malmö Castle (Malmöhus): Walk through the park to reach the castle. Inside, there are exhibits worth taking time to explore; outside, the courtyard has fun games—don’t skip playing them! 🏰 Submarine Museum (SM-71 Hajen): The joint ticket with the castle includes exhibits, interactive science demos, and access to the submarine’s interior. You can climb around inside the sub, and the upper-floor game area is brilliantly designed—both kids and adults will have a blast! There’s also a 3D experience (separate ticket, fixed times)—check details in the photos. 🚤 Scenic Spots Kungsparken (King’s Park): True to its “willow pond” vibe, it has tall tree walls, lakes, vast lawns, small gardens, and forest paths—ideal for a leisurely walk. 🌳 Turning Torso & The Coast: The twisting skyscraper might not wow you if you’re used to big cities, but the nearby beach, sand, and large lawns offer lovely views. If you have the patience to stay until sunset (9-10 PM), it’d be stunning—we left early because the wind was too strong, though! 🌉 More to Explore Old Town & Coastal Streets: Wander the old town or areas near the coast—you’ll spot all kinds of whimsical, one-of-a-kind houses. Malmö is truly a city where creativity shines! Saluhall Market: A spot for meals with restaurants serving international food. We tried Japanese ramen here—it was far from authentic, so we don’t recommend it. 🍜 Local Tips Food Surprise: Nordic cuisine can feel a bit plain, but there are gems—this was the first time I found oatmeal delicious! It’s so creamy and sticky, a total delight. 🥣 Bottle Deposit (“Pant”): Supermarkets charge a deposit for bottled water. Return empty bottles to get the deposit back in cash—we returned all our bottles before leaving to claim the money! ♻️ #Travel #NatureScenery #CulturalAttractions #CityRhythm #ArchitecturePhotography #UrbanExplorer #CityWanderer #UniqueCityCorners #HistoryMeetsModern #CityCharmHunt
