Manchester Day Trip ✈️🇬🇧
Took Hainan Airlines from Shanghai → Beijing → Manchester—super affordable at just ¥6,000+! Flight was on time & smooth (at least this time 😆). 🌍 Arrival & Transport: Easy breezy immigration—officers were friendly! Followed Xiaohongshu advice to walk 10 mins for the train, but ticket prices are now £6 (not £2). 💸 Pro tip: For 4 people, an Uber to the city (£20) is cheaper! 🏨 Hotel: Stayed near Oxford Road at The Wilderman—£800 for a triple room (great value!). Right next to Chinatown! Sadly, library & art gallery were closed (Monday), and the Town Hall was under renovation. 😢 📸 Sightseeing: Manchester Cathedral ⛪️: Lovely! A kind grandpa even gave us photo tips. Football Museum ⚽: Skipped it (£17 ticket, not worth for non-fans). University of Manchester 🎓: Stumbled upon graduation day! So festive—but note: Closed Mon-Wed (some say Mon is okay, but it was shut for us). Yellow double-decker buses 🚌 with the city’s bee mascot—cute! 🍽️ Food & Costs: Lunch: Subway + KFC wings bucket—£5 per person (so filling!). Dinner: Wanted Vietnamese pho (closed Monday 😭), switched to Thai—£15/person. No forced tipping! (Take that, USA 💅). Groceries: Tesco water (£0.20/bottle), 1.2L milk (£1.20)—cheap! 💭 Final Thoughts: Manchester exceeded expectations—clean, lively, safer than London, and budget-friendly! Definitely worth a visit. 🌟 #UKTravel #Manchester #BudgetTrip #TravelTips #SoloTravel #CityExplorer 🏙️✈️
