Manchester Sale | Michelin-Recommended Restaurant: Perfect Match

Sending out a belated review from July—I’ve been indulging every weekend this summer, so there’s a bit of a backlog! 😅 In the town of Sale, near Manchester, there’s a Michelin-recommended restaurant called The Perfect Match, specializing in French cuisine and modern British dishes. The owner has their own vineyard, so they have an impressive wine list 🍷 that pairs perfectly with the dishes. The name of the restaurant itself means a perfect match of food and wine! I highly recommend their starters, especially the 🦑 octopus salad and 🐟 tartar—they’re both excellent. I suggest ordering the main courses in smaller portions so you can try more dishes. Their white wine is also very refreshing, definitely worth a glass! Among the main courses, the truffle pasta intrigued me, but it was a bit underwhelming because the 🍄 truffle and 🧀 cheese flavors weren’t strong enough to stand out. Overall, it’s more of a family-style fine dining experience. The dishes are sophisticated and innovative, but the service is friendly and conversational, which might be why it got the Michelin recommendation. Sale is one of the larger towns around Manchester, with a significant Chinese community due to its top-tier schools. The town center has several great dining options, including Perfect Match, the Portuguese tapas place Petisco I recommended earlier, and my favorite seafood spot, Oyster Catcher, which has now opened a branch in Sale. I highly recommend visiting Sale for a weekend day trip if you’re tired of the city center. Average cost per person: £35-50 #ManchesterEats #ManchesterFood #ManchesterFoodie #ManchesterSurroundings #ManchesterDayTrip #BritishCuisine #FrenchCuisine
