Manhattan’s First Nanchang Rice Noodle Shop—Must Visit! (2)🌟
I ordered the super spicy version, which was incredibly refreshing and had that authentic Jiangxi chili oil flavor! The shopkeeper was super nice and even offered me a taste of their staff meal—pork tails. They were fragrant and spicy, and just delicious! 🌶️ 🌿🌟But since I missed out on the rice noodles the first time, I went again on Monday morning before heading back to school. I ordered the super spicy beef tripe noodles (as shown in the picture). The first bite felt like coming home! The peanuts were crispy and fragrant, and the pickled radish had that authentic old Nanchang flavor. 😥 The shopkeeper even added an extra spoonful of pickled radish, saying that we Nanchang folks just love this taste. One of the staff members, a young guy (or maybe he’s younger than me, haha), is also from Nanchang and was super enthusiastic. He said we should convince the shopkeeper to start making the traditional clay pot soup. When that happens, having the clay pot niu biang tong (meat pancake soup) with the noodles will be an absolute must-try! 🍜 🌿🌟This post is not sponsored, and I haven’t received any benefits. It’s purely the joy of a Nanchang native who’s been studying abroad for nine years. In short, Nanchang and Jiangxi folks, go find Auntie Wei for some noodles! Friends from out of town who want to try Jiangxi rice noodles don’t have to wait until you go back to China. There’s an authentic Jiangxi noodle shop right here in Manhattan, run by a Jiangxi auntie! (Just a note: if you’re not very good with spicy food, don’t order the super spicy version! I’m pretty spicy-tolerant even among Jiangxi folks, and my friends from Sichuan and Chongqing can’t out-spice me. 🌿🌟 The super spicy version was really flavorful, so everyone should choose their spice level wisely!) 🌟 #NewYorkFood #NYC #NanchangRiceNoodles 🌿🌟
