Maui Food & Drink Diary 🌺☕️
Just got back from Maui and here’s my real take on what we ate — the good, the okay, and the “maybe skip”! 🍣 Like Poke Pretty average — maybe it’s a Maui thing, but the poke here tends to have bigger chunks of fish. Not my favorite style. 🌊 Merriman’s Kapalua Stunning oceanfront seating! Their Mai Tai with pineapple foam is a must-order 🍍. The pork trotters were crispy outside, tender inside, and the seafood was solid. 🍜 Sam Sato’s Tried Maui’s famous dry noodles — but honestly, just okay. Not worth a special trip. 🥐 Four Sisters Bakery So good I forgot to take a photo! 😅 Their butter roll is soft, slightly sweet and salty — perfection. Cash only! 🏞️ Kula Lodge Stopped by on the way to Haleakalā National Park. The view overlooking the island and ocean is gorgeous — food? Meh. 🐢 Mala Ocean Tavern Scored a table right by the water — we even saw turtles while eating! 🐢 Loved their ube bread and the Poisson Cru (top right pic). Most mains come with mashed potatoes + fish + veggies — simple but tasty. 🏪 Tamura’s Fine Wine & Liquors As one Red user put it: “best poke on Maui… if we’re picking the best of the average.” Agreed. 🍽️ Lineage ABC-led Asian fusion with Chinese leanings. The steamed fish was better than it looked — the rest was just fine. 🥡 Tin Roof Takeout only (a few basic tables outside). Overhyped — decent but not memorable. ☕ Kraken Coffee Drive-through coffee truck — strong, bitter base but they use tasty syrups. 🇹🇭 My Thai Maui Weird ordering process, but flavors were actually pretty good! ☕ Maui Coffee Roasters So average I barely remember it. 🫘 Vida Stopped in Makawao — you can choose light or dark roast beans. A nice local spot. 🍛 Da Kitchen HUGE portions of Hawaiian food! Their fried Spam musubi is best hot. The Hawaiian plate was tasty and filling. 🍡 Foodland Found this amazing ube butter mochi — so chewy and delicious! 🟣 Heads up: texture varies by location — some are QQ, some less so. #Hawaii #Maui #MauiEats #HawaiianFood #TravelMaui #FoodDiary
