Melo Coffee & Kitchen
Melo Coffee & Kitchen | The Perfect Brunch Encounter in NOTA Art District 🍳🎨 Finally found an ideal brunch spot in Rochester that combines aesthetics, taste, and ambiance — Melo Coffee & Kitchen located in the NOTA (Neighborhood of the Arts) district! ✨ The area itself is safe, tranquil, and brimming with creative energy, surrounded by galleries and art studios, with lovely tree-lined streets. 🌳 Choosing to dine outdoors at Melo, savoring food while soaking in the artistic vibe, is absolutely a perfect way to spend a weekend. The key point is that every dish we ordered was delicious, with almost no misses! ‼️ 🥑 Brunch Dishes: A Feast for Both Eyes and Palate ▪️ Burrata Toast Initially drawn here by the photos of fig and burrata on Google Maps! 🍞 Although it's not fig season, the restaurant cleverly uses fresh strawberries as a substitute. The result is still stunning! The house-made burrata is rich, creamy, and softly textured, paired with slightly sweet strawberries and a drizzle of honey. The overall taste is incredibly fresh and not cloying at all. It's a dish full of spring and summer vibes! 💖 ▪️ Avocado Toast This one takes a refreshing, tangy route. 🥑 Ripe avocado mash is spread on crispy sourdough, and the highlight is definitely those marinated cherry tomatoes on top. Their bright acidity instantly wakes up the taste buds. It's also complemented with slightly spicy radish sprouts and some herbs, creating wonderfully complex layers of flavor. Both toasts are "aesthetic" representatives, and their taste lives up to their looks! 📸 ▪️ Breakfast Burrito If you're after something hearty and filling, this is the one! 🌯 The burrito is packed with classic fillings like scrambled eggs, cheese, and potatoes—substantial and tasty. The finishing touch is the side of green tomato salsa sauce. Its unique tanginess and freshness perfectly cut through the richness of the burrito, balancing and elevating the overall flavor. ▪️ Pulled Pork Cubano This was a pleasantly savory surprise! 🥪 The pulled pork is braised until tender and flavorful, combined with melted Swiss cheese and pickles, all pressed between crispy, grilled bread. The mustard flavor is quite prominent, adding a robust and slightly piquant kick that makes even the pork feel not greasy at all. Very satisfying. ☕️ Coffee: Decent, Room for Improvement In comparison, the coffee section feels somewhat standard. We ordered a latte and a mocha—consistent in quality but not exceptional. Particularly the Mocha was a bit too sweet for my taste; the chocolate flavor overshadowed the coffee's own aroma. If you're a coffee connoisseur, you might want to focus on their fantastic food or opt for a regular Americano or cold brew. 🌟 Overall Experience & Recommendation Melo successfully creates a comfortable, bright, and art-infused dining space. The service is friendly, and the food comes out at a reasonable pace. Whether it's for catching up with friends, a family weekend meal, or working solo with a laptop (they have Wi-Fi), it's a great fit. Verdict: This is a place I'd return to repeatedly for its brunch dishes. It proves that Rochester also has brunch options that rival those in bigger cities—refined and delicious! Highly recommended to anyone searching for quality brunch! 👏 #Rochester#Brunch#NOTA#ArtDistrictExploration
