Memorial Landscape: Ethiopia ET-302 Memorial Park
The ET-302 Memorial Park pays tribute to the 157 lives lost in the tragic flight, weaving the narrative of the crash into its design. Visitors are guided along paths that lead to the crash site, burial ground, and spaces for reflection, healing, and connection—all harmoniously integrated into the surrounding farmland. Design Principles 1️⃣ Absence: Reflecting loss through empty spaces. 2️⃣ Revelation: Unfolding the story of the crash. 3️⃣ Healing: Offering solace and closure. Key Features Crash Site & Burial Ground: A solemn, sacred circle (28m diameter) preserved in its natural state, bordered by a concrete walkway and subtle steel rails. Main Pathway: Traces the plane’s final 6 minutes and 44 seconds, culminating in a striking monument of four tilted, earth-red concrete structures—symbolizing the last moments. Secondary Paths: Lead to an open-air theater, gathering spaces, and a rock garden for quiet contemplation.
