Meril in New Orleans
So my husband and I came back… but today’s experience was just okay. 😕 First, we couldn’t get a table in the main dining area — ended up waiting in the chilly entrance with no view of the open kitchen. 🥶 Then, all the sweet dishes today were way too sweet… 1️⃣ Snapper was indeed delicious (though my husband was “persuaded” by the server to add crab meat — this Wenzhou native thought it was seriously overpriced… but he couldn’t resist 🦀💸). 2️⃣ Candied Ribs 3️⃣ General Tso’s Ribs (Fun fact: Meril is actually opened by chef Emeril Lagasse’s daughter. Our server lightly teased us for not knowing who Emeril was… 🙃) Still, the vibe is lively and the menu creative — just maybe ask for less sugar if you have a savory tooth! #NewOrleansEats #Meril #ChefSpotlight #SweetOverload 🍖🍯🎭
