Miami’s Must-Try Cuban Gem | Versailles: A Taste of Havana in Florida

My first stop in Miami was Versailles, the Cuban restaurant hyped across , Google, and Instagram—and it lived up to every bit of the buzz: delicious, huge portions, shockingly affordable. Totally worth the hype! 📍 Location & Convenience Address: 3555 SW Eighth St Miami, FL 33135 (right in the heart of Calle Ocho, Miami’s Cuban cultural hub. Spanish signs line the street, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a little Havana). Parking: There’s a huge parking lot right outside—super convenient for drivers, no stress about finding a spot! 🍴 Food Highlights: A Cuban Flavor Explosion Our table was loaded with hearty dishes, from beef tongue to roasted chicken—hardly a miss, and the portions were so big we considered taking leftovers for breakfast~ Roast Beef Tongue: The MVP of the meal! Four thick slices, tender enough to cut with a fork. Perfectly cleaned with zero gamey taste. The sauce mixed with rice? Pure heaven 😋. Braised Lamb: A massive lamb shank, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. Chef’s kiss 👩🍳. Braised Oxtail: Red wine-braised oxtail, equally tender and savory. Another sauce that’s chef’s kiss with rice—unbeatable. Calle Ocho Special: A huge crispy sandwich platter for around $10—shocked by the portion! The crust is crackly, stuffed with ham, turkey, bacon, and melted cheese—classic Cuban street food vibes, one is enough to fill you up. CHICKEN VERSAILLES: Latin-style roasted chicken is a winner! Crispy, spice-kissed skin, juicy meat that oozes juices when torn. The black bean rice and fried plantains on the side are stellar too—highly recommend. CATALONIAN STYLE MEATBALLS: The only letdown. Meatballs are a bit dense, seasoning is average—skip in favor of other dishes. Bonus: Maduros (Fried Plantains): Added these on a whim, and they’re incredible! Crispy outside, sweet and mushy inside—pairs with everything, we almost wanted to take some to go~ 💰 Unbeatable Value A table full of food (6 mains + 1 side) came out to just over $140—for this quality and portion size, it’s insanely good value for Miami. No wonder locals line up here too—this gem lives up to all the hype. If you’re in Miami craving authentic Cuban food, Versailles is a no-brainer. From beef tongue to roasted chicken, every bite screams rich Latin flavor. After that meal? All I could think was: totally worth it! #HiddenGemRestaurant #Miami #MiamiFood #MiamiTravel #MiamiEats #Versailles #MiamiGuide #CubanFood
