Miami | Hainanese Chicken Rice Certified by a Hainanese Person! 🐓🥒

Recently spotted Hainanese chicken rice 🍗 near FLL called Gai's Chicken! I immediately dragged my Hainanese friend to try it and see how authentic it is 🤤 They mainly serve Thai food and are super popular on IG. Even during off-peak hours, there were locals dining inside. The restaurant has lovely Southeast Asian decor, with really cute cups and plates featuring rooster designs 🐔 🫔 Cigar Spring Rolls: Such a creative dish! The spring rolls are shaped like long cigars, perfectly crispy with pork filling, served with delicious sweet and sour dipping sauce. 🍗 Kai Satay: Thai-style chicken satay skewers came with classic peanut sauce, sweet and sour cucumbers + bread. The portion was a bit small though. 🥠 Sunkissed Chicken Skin: MUST ORDER the fried chicken skin! Super crispy and delicious - rarely see this on American menus, such a pleasant surprise! 😍 🐓 Hainanese Chicken Rice: The chicken was incredibly tender with generous portions, served with cucumber sides. They provided two dipping sauces - one spicy ginger paste, another that tasted like sweet bean sauce. The biggest surprise? They asked if we wanted chicken livers! Haven't had these in ages, so touching 🥹 My Hainanese friend certified this dish as quite authentic! 🍜 Wonton Fish Cake Noodles: Ordered this craving soup noodles, but it turned out to be tossed noodles! Still delicious though - the wontons had generous filling, and the noodles had a satay-like sauce with sweet and sour notes. Every main course comes with wintermelon soup - overall great value! Perfect if you're in the area. The menu also has ice drinks and desserts we didn't try (too full!) but they looked amazing. 🍴 Gai Chicken and Rice 📍 4391 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 What's the most authentic ethnic dish you've discovered in Miami?
