Miami Off-the-Beaten-Path Snorkeling Guide
π Location: Peanut Island π’ How to Get There: - Water Taxi: Search for Sailfish Marina Resort on the east side of the island. It costs $20 per person for a round trip. Departure and return times are fixed, with only 3-4 options. π We booked online, but since we couldn't make the last shuttle due to equipment time, we switched to the shuttle boat. Later, we got a quick refund at the site. π’ Free valet parking is available; just tip the attendant. - Shuttle Boat: Look up Peanut Island Shuttle Boat on the west side. Tickets are purchased on-site and require a full group. It's also $20 per person round trip. This option is more flexible, with boats departing every 20-30 minutes. π€ There's a free parking lot nearby. - Kayak: Check out Bluewater Boat Jet Ski Rental , located near the shuttle boat spot. π We initially navigated to Paddle Boarding Palm Beach . After getting out of the car, we walked to the shore, turned left, and reached the end to find the rental place. They offer single and double kayaks. Prices vary, so inquire on-site. A brief training session is provided before you start paddling. π Since we were inexperienced and the route seemed long, we opted for the shuttle boat, though kayaking seemed like a fun activity. π£ββοΈ π€Ώ Snorkeling Gear Rental: Available at the same stall that rents kayaks. It costs $30 for a set, including a mask, snorkel, and fins. Noteβ οΈ: The mask does not have prescription lenses, and you must return it by 5 PM. π Best Snorkeling Spots: On the east side of the island, where the water is crystal clear and fish are visible to the naked eye. It's super beginner-friendly. There are lots of shells, so watch out for sharp edges. The rocks in the middle are slippery, so be cautious when taking photos. #Miami #Snorkeling #BeginnerFriendly
