Michelin-Starred Chef's Recommended Italian-Japanese Fusion 🍣✨

The restaurant is called **Restaurant Levi**. After dining at the nearby 3-Michelin-starred **Jordnær** (which left a deep impression - check my previous review if interested!), chef **Eric** highly recommended this **Japanese-Italian fusion** spot in central Copenhagen. Naturally, we had to try it! 🍽️💫 From the moment you step in, the **minimalist yet sophisticated** decor sets the tone. Our server shared that the chef personally designed many furniture pieces and decorations. 💡🪑 Every detail - lighting, plating, tableware, music, and service - is **executed flawlessly**, creating a **romantic atmosphere perfect for dates**. 💖🎶 The **sashimi** blew us away! 🐟🔥 Four varieties paired with their **house-dug wasabi root** (fermented underground!) highlighted incredible sweetness - especially the **Danish sweet shrimp**. This innovative wasabi prep keeps the spice while adding depth and a unique aftertaste. The **rice cracker + raw shrimp + chili** combo was good, though the **overpowering toasted rice flavor** masked the shrimp's natural sweetness and scallion aroma. 🍤🌶️ **Bluefin tuna** cut like udon noodles, enhanced with anchovy sauce, melded beautifully with almond broth. But the star was the **tomato powder** topping - its acidity added refreshing brightness! 🍅💦 **Grilled amberjack collar** with teriyaki-XO glaze was **juicy perfection** - the caramelized glaze avoided heaviness. Only flaw? Unscaled skin. 😅🐟 The **wagyu beef-covered croquette** (a signature) was just okay - wouldn't recommend. 🐄🤷 **Octopus leg** shared similar sweet soy notes to the fish, but with fermented pepper sauce. The **real MVP?** The humble **spiral vegetable** side - its crunch elevated the dish by 15 points! 🐙💯 **Mangalica pork** portion was **generous** - finally, **proper meaty satisfaction** in Denmark! 🐷🔥 No gamey taste (unlike UK pork), with a crispy crust and sauce that didn't overpower. Paired brilliantly with wasabi and a sweet sauce - **carnivore heaven**! For dessert, the **pistachio olive oil ice cream** (server's pick) transformed simplicity into brilliance with nutty richness and premium oil aroma. 🍦🌿 **Price:** ~800-1000DKK per person #Copenhagen #Denmark #JapaneseCuisine #CPHFood #EuropeTravel #HiddenGemEatery #FoodieAdventure 🍴✈️
