🌅 Michigan Weekend Getaway — Exploring Holland, MI 🏖️
This weekend I visited the lovely town of Holland, recommended by a friend! Just a 1.5-hour drive from Lansing 🚗💨 The scenery along the way was classic rural Michigan — wide lawns, untouched forests 🌲🍃 We started with lunch at Mizu Sushi 🍣: 🍡 Takoyaki (4 pieces + small salad, around $6 – pretty good!) 🍤 Tempura Udon (hearty portion, sukiyaki-based broth – avoid if that’s not your thing) Two sushi rolls: one salmon, one Maki 7 (7-piece mix) – both were a bit disappointing 😬 We didn’t finish everything. Total for two (with tip): $55 💸 Plan your budget accordingly, folks! 🏖️ BEACH HOPPING — We visited three beaches: 1️⃣ Idlewood Beach (through Tunnel Park) Lots of families camping and grilling 🍖 – super lively on weekends! Climb up the hill and you’ll see a breathtaking lake view that looks just like the ocean 😍🌊 The beach can get crowded – bring a picnic blanket or chairs! Sand is clean and soft – perfect for barefoot walks 👣✅ 2️⃣ Laketown Beach We tried this quieter spot after the crowds… but the road there felt a bit too remote 🚗🌲 No signal deep in the woods ⚠️📵 – we turned around. If you’ve been, share your experience! 👇 3️⃣ Private Shoreline Beach The most adventurous one! Park then hike through a stunning old-growth forest 🌳➡️🏖️ The trees are huge and majestic – but the trail is long! Not ideal for a lazy sunbathing day 😅 but perfect for explorers. The beach is wide, peaceful, and less blue (shallow southern water). Lots of people = feels safe 👥✅ 💡 Tips: Grab a bite in town, pick one beach to relax, and maybe visit the river-lake confluence 🌊🔁 for a chill half-day trip! Can’t wait to explore more of North Michigan’s lake routes! 🗺️❤️ #NorthAmerica #PureMichigan #LakeMichigan #HollandMI #WeekendVibes
