Midtown NYC|A Must-Try Dry Ramen for Office Workers 🍜👩‍💼

I’ve never been a huge fan of traditional Japanese ramen, but this spot near Bryant Park is totally worth revisiting! 🍴 Kaijiken 📍 1001 6th Ave, New York, NY 10018 Unlike classic ramen shops, they specialize in dry-style ramen. The noodles are thicker and chewier than usual—so satisfying to slurp! I ordered The Original: comes with big slices of chashu pork and bamboo shoots in a savory, soy-based sauce. It’s rich but not greasy, and the charred, smoky chashu is amazing. 🥢 Also tried the Niku Miso: similar sauce but loaded with slow-braised pork and minced meat. Each bite is packed with texture! (We skipped the soft-boiled egg since my mom doesn’t eat runny eggs.) For my dad who wanted soup, we got Spicy Tonkotsu—lighter than the traditional version, not too heavy, with a gentle spicy kick. As a side, we had fried octopus—crispy, tender, and totally addictive 🐙 Overall, Kaijiken hits the spot with flavorful, non-greasy noodles and great chew. You can even customize your bowl. Definitely coming back! #FoodieLife #NYCFood #NYC #NYCExploration #StudentFoodie #NYCWorkLife #JapaneseFoodNYC #NYCLife #NYCRestaurants #DryRamen #NoodleLove #RamenSpot #NYCLunch #BryantParkEats #MidtownEats
