Minnesota Food Adventure | The Lexington
An iconic old-school restaurant in St. Paul where we tried the special Restaurant Week menu — usually way pricier, so this was the perfect chance to experience it without breaking the bank 💸 🔥 Steak Diane Rating: 4.5/5 This is what a classic steak should be — cooked to perfection, tender, and served pre-sliced with a luxurious brandy sauce and earthy wild mushrooms. Absolutely satisfying! Even though I’m not sure about their regular pricing, I’d trust this place for a traditional steak done right. 🥩✨ 🐟 Pan Roasted Salmon Rating: 3/5 Okay, this one tasted… vintage 🧓👵. Very “American senior-approved” — extra crispy on the outside and dry on the inside. It was overcooked for my taste, but hey, the asparagus tucked underneath was seasoned beautifully and stole the show. 🥦💚 🍤 Walleye Cake Rating: 4/5 Surprise hit! I’ve recently been warming up to walleye, and this cake sealed the deal — lightly fried, super crispy outside, and flaky-moist inside. So good we ordered another after the salad fail! 🙌 🥗 Caesar Salad Rating: 0/5 We sent it back — and we never do that. 🚫 It literally looked like yesterday’s leftovers, complete with sad, brown-edged lettuce. Major yikes. They kindly let us swap it for another walleye cake, crisis averted. 😅 🍫 Lex Chocolate Cake Rating: 4/5 Calling all dark chocolate lovers! This cake is deep, bitter, and unapologetically rich. The texture was smooth and dense — a sophisticated ending to a mostly solid meal. ❤️🔥 📸 A mix of hits and misses, but definitely a dining experience with character — and that walleye cake? Worth returning for. #MinnesotaFoodie #TwinCitiesDining #TheLexington #FoodReview #MNfood
