Mixtli โ A Michelin-Star Journey Through Mexican Culinary History! ๐ฎ
Guided by this one-Michelin-star restaurant, we traveled back to 1848 Mexico to explore what people ate back then! ๐ฐ๏ธ๐ฒ๐ฝ The menu is creatively designed in collaboration with UTSAโs Mexican historical research team, inspired by real culinary archives. The service was absolutely exceptional โ our server was sweet, playful, and thoughtful. Each dish was brought out by the chef who prepared it, with detailed introductions. Since we were the last guests for this seasonโs menu, we even received complimentary coffee and dessert! โ๐ฐ Since the menu changes every season, hereโs my take on the overall experience: ๐น Drinks The non-alcoholic cocktails were refreshing and delicious โ one had tomato and strawberry yet tasted surprisingly light and bright! The hot cocktails were bold and boozy โ a bit strong for my taste. But the Mexican-style hot chocolate? A MUST! Not too sweet, rich with cinnamon and bitter cocoa โ the best hot chocolate Iโve had in the U.S.! ๐ฝ๏ธ Food Every dish was delicate and beautifully plated. We tried: Salmon tartare โ fresh and lightly seasoned Ceviche โ stunning presentation, unlike any Iโve seen Wild boar ravioli โ uniquely satisfying Squash dish โ surprisingly flavorful and creative Mole sauce with vegetables โ smoky, slightly spicy, and the best mole Iโve tasted (way better than the overly sweet versions in Mexico) Quail โ the most imaginative preparation Iโve ever tried By the end, we were fully satisfied โ each course was small but added up to a complete and memorable meal. ๐ Overall, Mixtli is totally worth experiencing โ not just for the food, but for the creativity, storytelling, and soul behind every bite! ๐ Mixtli 812 S Alamo St STE 103, San Antonio, TX 78210 #Mixtli #MichelinStarDining #MexicanCuisine #SanAntonioEats #CulinaryJourney
