Mmm, it’s his life.
Recently, I had the opportunity to work as an assistant for the French artist Jérôme Zonder, helping to install and set up his solo exhibition at the contemporary art institution/museum Casino Luxembourg. 🌟For me, it felt incredibly lucky and honored to work closely with an artist I admire, to participate in and understand the entire process of exhibition installation, and to collaborate with the team. It was an absolutely fantastic experience for me. I really appreciate the artist’s work, mainly due to my fascination with painting and the traces of manual creation. But the artist is not only skilled in painting techniques; more importantly, he interprets, deconstructs, and reconstructs contemporary society, popular culture phenomena, and image mixtures. 🌟This exhibition features a collection of the artist’s paintings of various sizes and specifications from recent years, including some sculpture and painting works, as well as large-scale on-site paintings. What’s unique is a series of interesting “interpretations” on the ground, allowing visitors to “trample” on them. Really, who cares? There are two walls in the exhibition that are simply layered with the artist’s paintings, installed and placed from large to small sizes, stacked on top of each other. As a result, the final presentation of the exhibition only allows visitors to see some small-sized works on the surface and parts of the works underneath, missing the pieces at the very bottom altogether. 🌟I feel fortunate because from the beginning of the installation to the end, I was able to carefully view all of his works for this exhibition, as well as the on-site creation process of some of his works, participating in some “no-brainer” manual work, and some painting work. The honor is in after all these years in France, in the contemporary art world where various media “reign supreme,” to have found someone who is passionate and almost fanatical about painting, and to work with him, feeling and experiencing the passion that runs in the artist’s veins. 🌟He’s cool, an interesting person. Mmm, it’s his life. Exhibition duration: October 7, 2023 - January 7, 2024 #RecorderOfRomanticLife #NotebookInspiration #ZIYIIIIIINAtTheExhibition
