Here's a roundup of the Chinese cuisine I've tried during my few days in Philadelphia, compared with Montreal's Chinatown ๐Ÿ†š๐ŸŒ†: 1๏ธโƒฃ Size Matters: Montreal's Chinatown is mainly concentrated in just two blocks ๐Ÿ™๏ธ. Philly's Chinatown is slightly larger, but the Chinese supermarkets here... let's just say they're not up to par ๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ˜•. 2๏ธโƒฃ Variety is the Spice of Life: More options and diverse flavors! I even spotted flyers that looked just like the ones back home in China ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ‘€. 3๏ธโƒฃ Sweet Tooth Woes: Couldn't find any good desserts/bakeries ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜ข. The two places I tried were a letdown. Montreal's dessert/bakery shops might not be mind-blowing, but at least they're consistently good and not dry ๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿ‘Œ. 4๏ธโƒฃ Budget-Friendly Eats: Except for EMei (which was a bit pricier), the other places were quite affordable ๐Ÿ’ธ. Of course, I can't directly compare USD to CAD, but it's still a great deal! โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” Restaurant Reviews: ๐Ÿง Heung Fa Chun Sweet House Recommended for sweet soups! It had a mix of Indian and Cantonese influences ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿš. The beef chow fun was generous with ingredients, and the rice noodles weren't clumpy.
