Montreal's Affordable French Cuisine Gem π«π· Open Until 2 AM β°
Landed in Montreal at 9 PM, and the first thing I did was go eat at this super popular French "midnight snack"! It's really busy, still lined up at 11 PM π₯Ί. Appetizer: π Grilled octopus: Very tender, good sauce. Main Course: π€ Roasted quail with wild rice: One of the best quails I've ever had! The wild rice is very chewy, and the sauce is sweet but delicious. π¦ Cuisse De Canard: Crispy skin, tender meat, super delicious! Similar to the quail, just choose one of the two. π€ Shrimp and chorizo risotto: Rich cheese flavor, smooth and flavorful, lots of shrimp and sausage, rich texture. π These next few dishes are also ordered more frequently, ποΈ worth a try: π· Andouillette sausage, red wine sauce. π₯© Hanger steak with shallot butter and fries. π§οΈ Burrata & heirloom tomatoes. π Risotto with chanterelle mushrooms. π Scallop and strawberry ceviche. π¨ The most popular desserts are puffs with ice cream, π lemon tarts! πΉ My friend ordered a Shirley Temple, which is non-alcoholic and actually quite good! But I still prefer π· white wine, which goes better with the duck leg. π₯ The pickled cucumber with the bread before the meal is delicious! The quality of the butter is also quite good, but the bread is average. β οΈ It is recommended to book in advance (I called to make a reservation after landing, and it was still relatively easy to get after 11 PM).
