Montreal | Fried Chicken Lovers, This One’s for You!

Lately, my feed has been flooded with fried chicken posts, so when I happened to walk by this place, I figured—why not give it a try? Stepping inside felt like discovering a hidden gem. The restaurant spans two floors with plenty of seating, but even then, it gets packed during peak hours. 🍗 Fried Chicken Baby Powder: A must-try! The savory-sweet cheese powder has a hint of creaminess—absolutely addictive. Angel Onion Dak: Ordered this because Dawa’s version is great, and this one didn’t disappoint. The creamy yogurt sauce paired with juicy sweet onions adds a double dose of richness. 💥 Boom—flavor explosion! Angry Bird: Avoid at all costs! Not the usual Korean sweet-spicy—instead, it’s overly tangy, salty, and weirdly reminiscent of Buffalo + peri-peri sauce. The spice also creeps up on you—not a pleasant surprise. 🥩 Beef Sashimi The meat itself is tender and silky, but it’s completely unseasoned, relying solely on a dipping sauce with chili slices and garlic. Problem? The sesame oil in the sauce is overpowering—even a light dip sends the flavor straight to your brain. Might as well eat it plain. 🍲 Seafood Stew Solid choice! Spicy, flavorful, and packed with a good variety of seafood—no weird aftertaste. Though, fair warning, you might occasionally bite into a gritty mussel. 🥘 Army Stew (Budae Jjigae) Also decent—loaded with meat and veggies, perfect for when you can’t be bothered to cook. But if I had to pick, the seafood stew wins. 💬 Final Thoughts This place offers huge portions at reasonable prices, and the flavors hold up well. In downtown Montreal, it’s shaking up the scene with its crispy, non-greasy fried chicken and reliably good Korean dishes. Definitely coming back! 📍 Chimaek Gana 2080 Rue St Mathieu, Montréal, QC H3H 2J4 👇 What else do you recommend here? #MontrealEats #FriedChicken #KoreanFood #DTMontreal #FoodieFinds
