Montreal | The No.1 Thai Restaurant?❗️I Don't Get It But I'm Shocked

Actually, I visited this place back in early June and hesitated for a long time about whether to post this. It's supposedly the big name in Montreal's Thai food scene, but I'll let you be the judge of that. 🦐 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘺 𝘚𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘱 The shrimp is wrapped in super crispy fried noodles, similar to Chinese fried dough twists. The shrimp itself had good texture, but there was way too much noodle wrapping - it completely overpowered the shrimp and made it seem tiny. 🍍 𝘍𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘙𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘗𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦 Sweet and sour pineapple fried rice - decent flavor. The pineapple bowl was roasted and super juicy. Picking at the pineapple flesh after eating the rice was fun! 🦑 𝘛𝘰𝘮 𝘠𝘶𝘮 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 The presentation was... something I've never seen before. Boiled seafood served with a pot of thick soup poured tableside! Since it's categorized as a soup, does that mean you're supposed to drink it? Because it was insanely salty! The tom yum was so thick it had sediment at the bottom. Dipping the seafood in it was okay, but drinking it straight up? No way 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️ 🍗 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯 The green curry had rich flavor with great coconut and curry notes. The poached chicken was tender, but again - SO SALTY! I wasn't planning to eat rice but had to order some just to dilute the curry. PS. It's pretty spicy - not for those with low heat tolerance... 🍍 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘬 𝘋𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 Pineapple-flavored rum cocktail - very Thai. Pretty and tasty (who doesn't like sweet drinks!) 💬 This appears to be the relocated version of the original Sherbrooke location. All the review photos show their old terrace decor and plating. The menu seems the same, but the quality... well, that's another story. 🏠 Pamika Thai 📍 4902 Boul.
