Montreal 48hr | Canada’s Top 100 Restaurant Lives Up to the Hype 👍🏻
Tried two dishes and felt both the chef and bartender were on point, so I looked it up—no surprise, it's ranked No. 43 on Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants! We went for the 8-course tasting menu, and the food and service were impeccable. Even though the whole experience took three and a half hours, it never felt long because everything was served in a well-paced manner. The bartender would bring a non-alcoholic drink first, followed by different chefs explaining each course, the origin of ingredients, and how everything is paired. Overall, it was an amazing experience! Here are a few highlights: 💕 Oyster: Unlike the typical raw oysters you find elsewhere, they served three oysters in different stages from raw to cooked. The cooked one was a showstopper—so tender, paired with a creamy sauce. Absolutely divine! 💕 Squash Purée + Focaccia: Watching the chef toast each piece of bread over the fire was mesmerizing. It was so fragrant and soft, with the squash purée carrying a hint of smoky bacon. 💕 Black Truffle Spaghetti: We were in aroma heaven! This dish was so rich and satisfying. The head chef personally explained the dish and didn’t hold back on shaving that black truffle. The two desserts were made by the pastry chef (the only woman in the kitchen!), and one of them featured thin slices of fresh apple paired with white beetroot frozen yogurt. The texture was complex yet not overly sweet—just amazing. As for the non-alcoholic pairing, the bartender treated it with the same attention to detail as he would with wine pairings. You could feel the thoughtfulness in every drink, carefully matched with each course. Highly recommended! Price: Tasting menu is $215 per person, and non-alcoholic pairing is $80 per person (including all taxes and tips). #LifeInCanada #MontrealFoodie #MontrealEats #MontrealDining #FoodDiary ### Restaurant: Hoogan et Beaufort Address: 4095 Rue Molson, Montréal, QC Type: Restaurant ###
