Montreal-Gaspé —— Food Chapter
No restaurant reservations made—when hunger struck, we just looked for places nearby that caught our eye. 👀 For dinner in Rimouski, we chose Les Affamés. When we walked in around 6:30 PM, the place was bustling with people—and that usually meant it was unlikely to disappoint. Without a reservation, we got seats at the bar, facing the restaurant’s open kitchen, where we could “supervise” the chefs at work. 👨🍳 We ordered the Babette de boeuf (beef shoulder) from the main courses. The beef was seared to around medium-rare, and while the texture was just so-so, the sauce was amazingly well-seasoned. The roasted vegetables on the side, though, were even more impressive and delicious! 🥩🥦 Then there was the white fish—a large pan-seared fillet with a tender, flaky texture. It came with a slightly tangy sauce, making it a refreshing, appetite-stimulating dish. 🐟 The Burger de la ferme fournier, a burger made with local beef, was a standard restaurant-quality burger. But the accompanying salad was tossed to perfection—super refreshing! 🍔🥗 Personally, I thought the restaurant nailed the sauces and the salad dressing, and they clearly put effort into plating. The only downside? The waitstaff was really busy, so we ended up waiting ages to pay the bill. ⏳ #FoodDiary #RimouskiEats #RoadTripFood
