MSC Eurora 🚢 Mediterranean Cruise - Day 5: Messina

🛳 Arrived in Messina around 10 AM. Since we had to be back on the ship by 4-5 PM (worried about train delays), we chose a relaxed citywalk route! After breakfast onboard, we headed straight uphill to📍Catalani Church (Chiesa di Santa Maria Alemanna)—a charming pink-hued church with a unique pastel interior. The viewing platform in front offers stunning vistas of the Montalto Sanctuary and the Astronomical Clock Tower! 🌸 ☕️ Around 11 AM, we strolled downhill to📍Pasticceria Irrera 1910 and tried the local specialty: Granita (lemon or coffee flavor) with a brioche bun (€4-5💶)—so refreshing and delicious! 😋 🚶‍♀️ At 11:50, we sprinted to📍Piazza del Duomo to catch the Astronomical Clock Tower’s noon performance (a 7-minute spectacle!). Right next to it is the grand Messina Cathedral, so we popped in to explore and rest for a bit. ⛪️ 🍽 By 2 PM, we were back onboard. Enjoyed a buffet lunch with panoramic views of the Strait of Calabria—so relaxing! Then, we headed to the open-air pool deck for some 📸 photo ops. Super windy, but the views were worth it! 🎭 In the evening, we capped off the day with the ship’s live shows—a perfect ending to our Messina citywalk! #MSCEurora #MessinaDayTrip #MSCCruises #MediterraneanCruise 🌊✨
