Mulate’s in New Orleans 🐊🍤
Ordered a Cajun sampler platter here — honestly, it wasn’t as salty as everyone says, but then again, I love bold flavors. 😅 Overall, the cooking was fine, but some ingredients just won’t become amazing no matter how you prepare them… as you can see in the second pic, we ended up leaving a lot of alligator meat behind. 🐸 Frog legs were the best — tender inside with a crispy, slightly charred outside. 🦐 Shrimp were tasty and hard to mess up (just as expected). 🐟 Fish was a bit dry — not like the super tender fish you often find in the U.S. 🌭 Boudin wasn’t my thing — it’s a soft, mealy sausage, and I prefer something with more bite. 🐊 Alligator meat just tasted like bland chicken to me — even with seasoning, it didn’t wow me. Just tried it for the experience. 🦞 Crawfish were made into dumplings… which completely masked their natural flavor. Soft, doughy, and not my style either. Overall, the seasoning and cooking might be decent, but some ingredients themselves just don’t shine no matter what. 🥲 #NewOrleans #CajunFood #Mulates #FoodReview #NOLA
