📝🏰 Munich City Stories
🗿 Juliet Statue: A gift from Verona. It's said that single people who touch Juliet's breast will find true love, hence the polished right breast from all the touches. 🕍 St. Peter's Church: Only a small part of it is the original historical building; most of it is newly constructed. It offers a panoramic view of the entire city, and on a clear day, you can even see the snow-capped mountain peaks. It's on my list. 🏰 Marienplatz: At 11:00, 12:00, and 18:00 every day, music plays for about three minutes, and then the little figures on the tower start to rotate. To be honest, the music is nothing special, and the rotating figures aren't much to look at either. However, there are always at least a few hundred people in the square watching and taking photos, and the start of the figures' rotation causes阵阵 gasps of amazement. 🏛️ Fraumünster: The tallest building in Munich, no other buildings are allowed to be taller. It contains the "Devil's Footprint." In fact, the construction funds for this church came from indulgences purchased by "sinners." 🎩 Max-Joseph-Platz: The first king of Bavaria (which is why he's seated while all other statues you see are standing). To the east of this square is the opera house, to the north is the Residenz Museum, and to the south are various luxury stores. 🌆 Theatinerstrasse: It's not even on the map, but it's where I heard the most unforgettable stories. During World War II, if citizens didn't want to salute the Nazi memorial as soldiers demanded when passing through Odeonsplatz, they would take a detour via Theatiner Str. This was later discovered by the authorities, and on the fourth warning, they would be sent to Dachau concentration camp, from which there was no return. The golden bricks on this road are a memorial to these people. 🎼 Odeonsplatz: On July 13th, there happened to be a large open-air concert by the Berlin Philharmonic. The square was filled with seats, and I was fortunate to hear the rehearsal—it was a grand and neat style. However, my musical sophistication is lacking, and I couldn't make much of it. 🏰 Theatiner Church: This church is pure white inside and very beautiful. It was built by a duke who had seven daughters in a row, hoping to please God for a son. #UrbanPhotography #Culture #Munich #Stories
