Munich Hiking | Climbing Over Two Mountains to See a Lake
Route: Schliersee to Tegernsee Difficulty Level: 🌟🌟 Recommendation Level: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🔸Transportation & Supplies: From Munich Hauptbahnhof, take RB55 directly and you’ll arrive in about an hour! The moment you get off, you’re in a small town with an Edeka store where we bought water, sports drinks, and a meal replacement each, plus we prepared 🥐 which was enough energy for the day. Length: 13km, Ascent: 790m, Highest Point: 1430m 🔸Experience: I’ve always loved the hiking scenery around Munich ⛰️. The one-day route we chose this time wasn’t too challenging overall, but there were a couple of kilometers that were quite steep and difficult to navigate. We managed to complete it smoothly with the help of some branches we picked up along the way. It was also my first time hiking in Germany, and the most memorable part was that every time we encountered someone, we would greet each other, and some would even chat about the road ahead. It felt like everyone became more friendly in the embrace of nature. At the highest point, there was a Jesus cross with a wind chime 🎐. When the wind blew, the whole world was filled with the gentle sound of tinkling, and there were us and an elderly couple who had also climbed up, sitting on the mountaintop looking at the ridge lines and the distant view. At that moment, it felt like time and space were stretching out. The last time I saw a lake view in Germany was at Eibsee, where we took a cable car 🚠 and also rowed a boat for a leisurely version of nature immersion. This time, to see Lake Tegernsee, we chose to climb over two mountains. After a full day of exercise, not only did we finally see the lake, but the grass, moss, and intricate tree roots that formed the trails along the way left an even deeper impression. I can’t wait to unlock more routes in the future! 🫡 🔸Food: In the town where Tegernsee is located, there’s a traditional German restaurant that has been open for over 300 years. The pork knuckle and the accompanying mashed potatoes were both delicious, especially after a tiring day when the appetite was even better! #OutdoorHiking #MunichHiking #Munich #MunichSurroundings #HikingRouteRecommendations #Hiking #MeasureTheWorldByHiking #GermanMonthlyTicket #Bavaria
