Munich Old Town One-Day Trip | Relaxed City Walk 🚶‍♀️

We arrived in Munich by road trip! A crucial tip for anyone driving into Germany for the first time: you must buy a green environmental sticker (Umweltplakette) 🚗. We parked in the city center and ran into a kind traffic warden who was about to issue a fine. He let us off this time but told us to buy the sticker immediately—otherwise, we’d face a €100 penalty! It took us a while to find the purchase point: Munchen (Nord),📍 Anton-Ditt-Bogen 1a . It cost €37, which felt a bit overpriced 😅. With the green sticker, you can park directly in the old town. We parked in the blue-zone area next to Frauenkirche (Our Lady’s Church)—just validate your ticket (€2.5 per hour) 🅿️. Old Town Attractions Frauenkirche (Our Lady’s Cathedral) 📍 Frauenplatz 1, 80331 München Free to enter for a visit; a ticket is required to climb the tower for views 🎫. Hofbräuhaus München (Royal Court Brewery) 📍 Platzl 9, 80331 München You have to grab a beer here in the old town! The ground floor is packed—great for soaking up German beer culture and the lively vibe. If you’re with kids or elders, head to the second floor for dining—it’s much quieter. Every dish here is delicious 🍻🍖. Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) 📍 Marienplatz 8, 80331 München A stunning Gothic building, famous for its rotating wooden glockenspiel. At 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 5:00 PM, the clock chimes, and colorful puppets come out to play musical instruments. Arrive on time to film the show 🎭. Viktualienmarkt (Victuals Market) 📍 Viktualienmarkt 3, 80331 München A super lively European market full of local charm! There are tons of stalls selling food, drinks, and handmade trinkets—highly recommend wandering around here 🧀🍯. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy 🌧️, so the photos don’t do the old town justice—it’s way more impressive in person! We spent 4-5 hours wandering around, and absolutely loved this slow-paced vibe ~ #Munich #CityWalk #OneDayTrip #EuropeanStreets #SlowPace #MunichTravelGuide #EuropeTravel
