Museum Adventures | Zagreb's [Museum of the 80s]

šŸ’—One of the most quirky and interactive museums I’ve ever visited! šŸ’—Located in Croatia’s capital, the Museum of the 80s (opened in 2018) was a highlight of my graduation trip with my mom. šŸ•°ļø A Time Capsule of Yugoslav Life šŸ’—After flying from Zurich to Zagreb, we stumbled upon this gem—open until 10 PM—while exploring our Airbnb neighborhood. šŸ’¦Housed on the second floor of a historic apartment, the museum recreates a 1980s Yugoslav-era home where everything is touchable, wearable, and playable: ā€¢šŸ’¦ Vintage cars parked at the entrance šŸš— ā€¢šŸŒˆ Retro closets with authentic ā€˜80s fashion šŸ‘— ā€¢šŸŒˆ Typewriters, rotary phones, and CRT TVs šŸ“ŗ ā€¢šŸŒˆ A fully interactive living room, kitchen, and bedroom (sit on the sofa! flip through photo albums!) ✨ Why It’s Special 🌊Unlike traditional museums, there are no ropes or "do not touch" signs. You’re invited to: 🌊Dress up in shoulder-padded jackets 🌊Play old-school video games šŸ”†Spin vinyl records on a period-accurate turntable šŸ”†My mom loved rediscovering sewing machines and analog gadgets from her youth, while I marveled at how Croatia’s pre-independence era brimmed with such vibrant, tactile charm. ā„¹ļø Visitor Info šŸ“ Radićeva 34, 1st floor, Zagreb šŸ”— Official Website #Croatia #Zagreb #MuseumOfThe80s #Nostalgia
