Zagreb Food Guide

The Croatian capital's old town may look shabby and small, reminiscent of Brussels 🇧🇪 and Vienna 🇦🇹, but the food scene here is unexpectedly fantastic! 📍 Torero ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Must-try! Not quite legendary flavors yet, but the dining experience is out of this world - their creativity pushes boundaries. Full review coming soon! 📍 Restaurant Konoba Time4wine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Must-try! 4.7/5 from 1,500+ Google reviews says it all. 🐂 Veal Ribs - Absolute perfection! Perfect 1:1 fat-to-lean ratio, incredibly tender. 🍞 Proja i pita sa domaćim kravljim sirom - Balkan cornbread and pita with homemade cheese (the pita is wonderfully chewy). 🌶️ Roasted Pepper with Homemade Cream - Sweet red peppers paired with rich, creamy sauce. 📍 Stari Fijaker ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended Established in 1848, one of Zagreb's oldest restaurants serving traditional Croatian dishes that surprisingly suit Chinese palates! 🐑 LIČKA KALJA - Lamb soup packed with flavor, not greasy, with vegetables soaked in meaty goodness. 🐖 SARMA - National dish of cabbage rolls stuffed with perfectly balanced fatty/lean pork (slightly salty if eaten alone). 🧀 DOMAĆI SIR IVRHNJE - Intensely creamy cottage cheese (best shared). ⚠️ Skip the dry pork schnitzel (but the roasted potatoes are divine!). 📍 Vincek ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Recommended A local-favorite cake shop. Their signature chocolate "Ferrero" cake tastes identical to the real deal - super sweet (Asian friends may only manage one bite). 📍 Broom44 ⭐️⭐️ Average Great location near Dolac Market with pretty dishes and sunny ambiance, but flavors are just okay. #FoodieAdventures #CroatiaTravel #CroatianCuisine #Zagreb #ZagrebFood #GlobalEats #NoBordersInGoodFood
