Must-Try Crispy Roast Pork 🐖

Don’t Miss the Pig Vibes at Den Glade Gris! Restaurant Name: Den Glade Gris 📍 Address: St. Olavs Gate 33, 0166 Oslo, Norway 💰 Average Cost: NOK 400-500 This traditional Norwegian restaurant is filled with pig-themed elements. From the sculptures at the entrance, the interior decor, menu design, wall art, and even the staff uniforms, everything is pig-themed 🐷. The staff uniforms are particularly adorable! Apart from the charming pig theme, the food is also excellent. I ordered two main dishes, both classic Norwegian pork dishes, and neither was greasy or had any strange flavors. The portions were generous! Here’s a quick rundown: 🍖 Crispy Roast Pork / Langgrillet svineknoke — NOK 396 This roast pork is the signature dish of the restaurant, and it’s likely what everyone comes for. The cut is pork knuckle, with just one large bone that has been roasted for at least 5 hours, making it easy to debone. The skin is incredibly crispy, so much so that it’s a bit challenging to cut at first. The inside pork is very tender. Words can hardly describe how delicious it is—please check out the live photos to see how tempting it looks. The overall flavor is salty, extremely aromatic, and has no strange tastes! The portion is large enough for two people, and we couldn’t finish it, so we took it home as a doggy bag. 🥗 Classic Mashed Potato Stew with Pork / Grisens lapskaus — NOK 235 Although this dish also features pork, it tastes completely different from the previous pork knuckle. The pork here is softer and more tender, and when paired with potatoes and carrots, it has a surprisingly fresh and sweet flavor. It also comes with large crispy chips, which I really enjoyed. Again, two people couldn’t finish it Additional Notes: The restaurant is located in the city center. Oslo is not a large city, so it’s convenient to walk around after your meal. I didn’t make a reservation and visited during lunchtime, but there was no wait. The pig theme is really adorable! Haha. With this, my Oslo part of the Norway travel series is complete. If you’re interested, you can check out the detailed records of the restaurants that left a deep impression on me. The Bergen part is still to come… Summary: Definitely visit this place, especially if you love pork. It’s a must! #Oslo #OsloTravel #OsloFood #OsloGuide #NorwayTravel #NorwegianCuisine #NorwayTourism #NorwegianRoastPork #CrispyRoastPork
