Must-Try Restaurants in Hawaii — My Top Picks & What to Skip! 🌺
✅ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ✅ 🍣 Katsumidori Sushi Tokyo I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had their uni (sea urchin)! Incredibly fresh and ridiculously affordable — we left stuffed and happy for just over $100 for two. A true hidden gem! 💯 🍜 Marugame Udon The famous udon spot with never-ending lines 👀 — for good reason! Their beef curry udon with crab sticks is comforting, flavorful, and easy on the wallet. 🥓 Gyu-Kaku The Hawaiian outpost of this popular Japanese BBQ chain is just a short walk from Waikiki. Perfect for a quick lunch — their weekday lunch combo is both tasty and great value. 🦞 Red Lobster Located next to the Prince Waikiki. We headed here late on our first night — the fried squid rings were a standout, and the lobster portion was generous. Just be prepared for slower service. 🍜 Onoya Ramen Among the many ramen shops in Hawaii, this one truly stands out. You can’t go wrong with any of their ramen bowls — though their other dishes are just okay. 🐟 Ono Seafood A local classic! I’ve come back again and again for their Spicy Ahi and Salmon bowls — absolutely fresh and flavorful. Stick with those — the rest didn’t wow me as much. 🥘 Siam Square A cozy Thai joint at a street corner. Authentic and delicious — the chefs and servers are all from Thailand, and you can taste it in the food! 🦀 Karai Crab 🚪(Address No. 1314!) The legendary spot for crab lovers! We tried the Snow Crab Legs + Lobster Tail combo — served in a giant pot. An epic feast for the senses! 🍧 Island Vintage Shave Ice 🌈 Their Rainbow shave ice is a must! ⚠️ Important: Go to the standalone kiosk location (the one across from H&M) — the others just don’t compare. 🍨 Ice Monster If you’re into matcha and fluffy shaved ice, this is your spot. I was hooked on it during my last trip — and it’s still just as good now. #Hawaii #HawaiianFood #FoodGuide #EatLikeALocal
