🚠 Must-Visit Lisbon Attraction: Santa Justa Elevator 🚠

The Elevador de Santa Justa is one of the must-visit attractions in Lisbon. Built at the end of the 19th century, this elevator was designed by engineer Raoul Mesnier de Ponsard, who was once a disciple of Gustave Eiffel. The exterior of the elevator is filled with neo-Gothic style, and the metal carving details can't help but remind one of the Eiffel Tower. Many people choose to buy a Carris ticket to ride directly or a one-day ticket, but my sister and I, upon seeing the long queue of people, decided to follow some people's hidden passageways found online and climb up to view the scenery. Riding the elevator actually takes you first to the high observation deck, which connects to a skywalk on the other end, leading directly to the Carmo Square. So we climbed up through a hollowed-out connecting staircase from the street below. It's actually quite fast and not too tiring at all ~ if you want to save money and time, this is also an option. Of course, if you want to experience the feeling of riding, it's well worth it. Overall, this attraction is highly recommended! Riding this elevator is not only a means of transportation but also an experience of crossing through history. Looking down from the top, you can see the red-tiled roofs of Lisbon, the winding streets, and the broad Tagus River, which will definitely make you feel that it's worth the price of the ticket. 🕰️ Operating Hours: Mar-Oct: 07:00~23:00 Nov-Feb: 07:00~21:00 💰 Cost: On-site ticket purchase: 5,30€, including two elevator rides and visiting the observation deck / With a 24hr transport card: free elevator ride, 1.5€ for visiting the observation deck / With a Lisbon Card: free elevator ride and free admission to the observation deck #Lisbon #LisbonAttractions #PortugalAttractions
