šŸ“ Mwanza|I’m Lounging by Lake Victoria Again

šŸ“It takes three days and two nights to travel from Burundi’s capital to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s capital. At 30, my body and spirit simply can’t handle it anymore, lol. As for Arusha? I’m not climbing Kilimanjaro or doing another safari. My heart is set on Zanzibar! So I’m stopping in Mwanza for two days before flying there. Mwanza, Tanzania’s second-largest city, is also called "Rock City." Though it’s a small city with few attractions, I unexpectedly love it. We’re staying on a hill overlooking Lake Victoria—it feels like gazing at the ocean. After lounging by Lake Victoria in Uganda, I’m doing it again in Tanzania. Sitting on the Airbnb balcony, surrounded by greenery, is so soothing. While hanging laundry, I spotted a huge bird overhead and a red-blue lizard at my feet. Places with rich ecosystems are so comfortable… except for the mosquitoes and bugs. Went out for food and ran into kids just out of school. Thanks to them for the 200% boost in mood— I’ll always adore their direct, enthusiastic energy. As an ENFP, I’m completely immersed and loving it. Stay šŸ  Chicken Run Bar and Grill (Airbnb) Stunning views overlooking Lake Victoria. Located in a quiet, secure upscale neighborhood, though the villa is a bit old. Fully equipped kitchen with jam, spices, and grains—great for cooking. 405 RMB for 2 beds, 1 bath, fits 3-4 people. šŸ“ Victoria Prince Hotel A local taxi driver recommended this casual spot. Packed at dinner with locals—lively atmosphere. Grilled fish and chicken are delicious (~40 RMB/person). Pricier by local standards. šŸ“ TikTok Food Point Across from the above, this street has lots of dining options. Also crowded with locals—try the potato omelet! Fits the Chinese palate (~25 RMB/person). šŸš– Use Bolt for hassle-free rides—no haggling needed. Even at 7 AM for the airport, we got a car quickly. Currency Exchange šŸ“ Chinese Supermarket Run by Fujianese, stocks instant noodles and spicy noodles at good prices. Exchange rate was 1:387 (close to real-time). #Mwanza #Tanzania #Africa #TravelTanzania #AfricanLife #TravelDiaries #GlobeTrotter #LakeViewVibes šŸŒāœØ
