My Day in Nairobi! ✈️
📍 National Museum of Kenya 🔹 Entry: 1,200 KES (cash not accepted directly) Pro tip: Register your passport at reception, take a photo of the generated order, then ask the craft shop across the street to pay via M-Pesa for you. 🔸 English Guide: 500 KES (unofficial fee, we gave 1,000 KES for two). Totally worth it! The guide gave deep insights into human origins, Kenyan wildlife, and national history. 📍 Kenyatta International Convention Centre (UN Complex) 🔹 Entry: 500 KES (card/M-Pesa only, no cash). This is the UN Africa HQ (home to UNEP & UN-Habitat)! 🔸 Climb to the 27th floor for a panoramic city view. We joked around in a meeting room ("Attending a UN Meeting" 📸). Fun fact: The guard wouldn’t let us photograph him but happily posed for selfies! 📍 Maasai Market 🔹 Location changes daily—today it was right next to KICC! Stall owners are lively; haggling is a must. 🔸 Price examples: 2 wooden bowls: Asked 8,500 KES → 300 KES 3 fridge magnets: Asked 1,500 KES → 750 KES Your bargaining skills decide the final price! 📍 Village Market 🔹 Huge but slightly confusing. Handicrafts are pricier than Maasai Market but more refined. Lots of dining options. 🔸 Must-visit: Carrefour supermarket (ground floor). Wildlife tote bags: Small (26 KES), Large (39 KES). Fresh juice: 225 KES/bottle. Bonus: Pay in cash to get Kenyan coins as souvenirs—they feature animals! 🐘 (20), 🦁 (10), 🦏 (5), 🦒 (1). 📍 Lunch @ Connect Coffee 🔹 Kilimanjaro coffee + mango shake = Divine! 🔸 Avocado 🥑 & mango 🥭 were unbelievably fresh. 🚗 Transport: Used Uber all day—affordable and drivers were super friendly! #NoEarlyMorningTravelDiaries #Nairobi #Kenya #KenyaTravel
