My Trip to Germany: Berlin, Hamburg & Lübeck 🇩🇪

We visited three cities in Germany: Berlin, Hamburg, and Lübeck. Here are my key takeaways: Germany in summer is really pleasant, but the temperature difference between morning and night is quite big—don’t forget to pack a jacket 🧥. A €49 monthly public transport pass is super convenient in Germany. Be sure to buy it in advance (before the 10th of each month) and you can cancel the subscription for the next month if needed. Berlin feels more solemn to me. I stayed there for 2 days and visited the Reichstag Building, Checkpoint Charlie, and Jewish Museum. You need to book the Reichstag in advance—though you might still get same-day tickets in the off-season (I booked ahead just to be safe) 🏛️. For Berlin accommodation, stay in the city center directly—it’s super easy to get around, and all attractions are close by 🚶. I stayed in Hamburg much longer because I was visiting friends, so I got a little taste of local life there. The temperature is comfortable, but an umbrella is a must for outings—rain can start suddenly, so bring an umbrella and a jacket too ☔. I also checked out Hamburg’s red-light district to experience the city’s nightlife 🌃. Lübeck is very close to Hamburg—just a 1-hour ride on a regional train. The €49 monthly pass covers this train directly. Lübeck is so beautiful—definitely rent a small boat and spend a cozy afternoon on the water 🚤! You must visit Miniatur Wunderland (Miniature Wonderland) in Hamburg! Book tickets in advance too—my friend got me a combo ticket for a boat tour + the museum, which was awesome 🚂. Overall, I think Germany is a bit of a "food desert"—it feels like you can smell hamburgers everywhere on the streets 🍔. When taking public transport in Germany, double-check the direction—don’t take the wrong train/bus! In my experience, the transit signs aren’t always that clear ⚠️. That’s mostly it for my Germany trip. Germany isn’t really a "tourist country" per se, but it’s a great choice if you want to relax—plus, it’s not that hot in summer!
