🌅Napier Travel Diary - Sunset Over the Mountains
When the entire North Island was raining during Easter, we found the only "bug" (sunny spot) in the system.😝 📍⛰️Te Mata Peak A perfect sunset viewpoint just 20 minutes from Hastings, where you can drive up the mountain. After nagging about it three times, we finally made it! Though clouds covered the sunset, the sunlight breaking through over the mountain peaks looked like a painting 🥹 Pro tip: The road up is super narrow, and parking is tough at sunset. You can also hike 30 minutes up—the views along the way are totally worth it! 🌄 📍Bluff Hill Lookout A lookout in downtown Napier. If you follow the trail to the left, you’ll find a perfectly placed bench for a great photo op with the city. (Napier’s roads are a bit tightly planned, and the uphill drive is slightly tricky, but thankfully, traffic’s light.)🏡 📍Marine Parade A must-visit semi-transparent seaside viewing deck with a long coastline. Windy and wild on a rainy day, but it felt oddly apocalyptic in the best way—like standing fearless in a storm 🌪️. Here’s a sunny summer version too (yep, I’ve already been twice this year 😋). Which do you prefer—rainy or sunny vibes? #NewZealandNorthIsland #TravelSnippets #Napier #Hastings
