Napoleon House
Napoleon House was a must-visit spot we specifically picked for our New Orleans trip! 🎯 The reasons are simple: it's incredibly historic (built back in 1814! 🏛️), and it’s said that before Napoleon left for Corsica, someone suggested he stay here—hence the name! Plus, it has a charming courtyard perfect for relaxing and chatting. 🍃☀️ We happened to visit during Restaurant Week and tried their two-course lunch set! 📍 Atmosphere & Experience Located in the heart of the French Quarter, the vibe is surprisingly peaceful. We sat in the courtyard surrounded by red brick walls, green plants, and a small fountain. 🏡 The ambiance is definitely the highlight here! If you like courtyard dining, Brennan’s is another great choice (personal recommendation!). 🥗 What We Ordered We got the $25 Restaurant Week lunch (starter + main), plus their famous Muffuletta sandwich and a Pimm’s Cup Sampler drink set. ✔️ Seafood Gumbo (Starter) A light version of gumbo—not too heavy on spices, but a bit salty. The seafood flavor was mild, but it worked as a simple appetizer. 🥣 ✔️ Fried Oyster & Blue Cheese Salad (Main) Better than expected! The oysters were plump, crispy, and generously portioned. 🦪 The salad had spring greens, nuts, a touch of blue cheese, and a citrus vinaigrette—refreshing and tangy! Perfect for a summer day. 🌞 ✔️ Muffuletta Sandwich A star dish! We ordered a half portion ($15)—just right for one person. The warm sesame Italian bread was soft yet chewy, with layers of ham, salami, pastrami, olive salad, and cheese. 🥪 Compared to a Po-boy, this is more structured and Italian-style. Highly recommended! 🥂 Pimm’s Cup Sampler Three small cups of herbal, citrusy cocktails—light and refreshing. 🍹 The first was classic with cucumber, the second had a ginger twist, and the third was more citrus-forward. A bit pricey at $20, but perfect for the courtyard vibe! 📸 Have you been to Napoleon House? What did you think of the Muffuletta or the courtyard?
