Finally won the lottery for The Wave this weekend! šš So while I was in Kanab, UT, I decided to explore nearby spots. The Great Chamber has been on my list foreverāand it did not disappoint! Hereās the full route guide for you: š The Great Chamber š°ļø Just a 1-hour drive from Kanab. Since the hike is short, 2ā3 hours is plenty. Very trip-friendly and highly recommended! šŗļø Two main routes from KanabāEnglish guides say theyāre similar. We took Route 1 with a suitable vehicleāno major issues: 1ļøā£ Navigate via Johnson Canyon Rd to Crocodile Trailhead. Follow AllTrails offline map for Cutler Point Trail. ⢠Turn left onto BLM100 at 37.14375, -112.39497 ⢠Turn right onto BLM103 at 37.13066, -112.45461 ⢠Drive to parking at 37.18602, -112.45894 2ļøā£ Navigate to 37.11325, -112.55477 ā turn right onto Kanab Canyon Rd ⢠Turn right onto BLM100 at 37.14533, -112.54077 ⢠Turn left onto BLM103 at 37.12988, -112.45713 ⢠Drive straight to parking š BLM100 & BLM103 are sandy roadsā4WD/high clearance required (Jeep Wrangler or better). ⢠Avoid rainy/snowy conditions āļøš§ļø ⢠Maintain 20ā30 mph without braking ššØ ā¢ Deflate tires slightly and bring recovery gear š ļø ā¢ Learn sand driving tips to avoid getting stuck! š§ If you lack the right vehicle or experience, local tour companies offer guided tripsāsafer and easier! š From the parking lot, the trailhead is on the right.
