When a UBC student π§βπ first arrives in downtown Vancouver and is walking towards the waterfront, they might be surprised to stumble upon one of Vancouver's famous attractions: the Steam Clock, standing right by the roadside, billowing steam. πΏ π After learning more, it turns out this is the world's first steam clock, a landmark of Gastown. It primarily uses underground steam to power the clock's mechanism, with steam emerging from the ground every 15 minutes. π³ The sound of the steam is even longer on the hour. π°οΈ πΊοΈ Tourist Route: If you're new to Vancouver, after visiting the Steam Clock, head to Canada Place. Follow the waterfront trail, and you'll spot the Dolphins statueβa landmark.
