New Jersey ☕ Jersey City drink black sesame latte

Last Saturday, I headed to SoHo specifically for The Lost Draft’s black sesame latte—only to be told they don’t sell it anymore! 😱 Isn’t that their most famous drink? Why’d they stop making it?! But it’s okay—luckily, I found another spot in NJ that serves black sesame lattes! ☕️ 🍴 LACKAWANNA COFFEE 📍 295 Grove St, Jersey City, NJ 07302 (I think there are two other locations too) They’ve got a pretty big menu, but when I went on a Sunday afternoon, most of the pastries were already sold out. 😕 I came for the black sesame latte, so I ordered one iced and one hot—both with oat milk. Turns out, their black sesame latte doesn’t come with espresso, so I paid an extra $1.50 per cup to add a shot (that’s $3 total—kinda pricey! 💸). It tastes like they just use black sesame powder, and honestly? It was just okay. The powder didn’t seem to blend in well. Maybe because I didn’t add honey, the unsweetened black sesame was a bit bitter on its own—and with the espresso, it got even more bitter. 😬 The hot one had a slightly stronger black sesame flavor, but it was also more bitter. The iced version felt lighter, though. At least I chose oat milk—it added a little subtle plant-based sweetness that helped. Overall, if you’re in the area, you can give it a try, but personally?
