New Mexico: Ultra-Relaxing 6-Day, 5-Night Guide | More Than Just White

My spring break trip to New Mexico was last year, but I still wanted to write this guide—because it was so laid-back and beautiful (okay, fine, also because I don’t feel like studying 😂). Day 1: Arrival in Albuquerque (ABQ) ✈️ Landed at ABQ around 11:30 AM (thanks to time zone differences). Afternoon spots: ABQ Old Town – Wander the charming adobe streets and soak up the Southwest vibe 🎨. Sandia Peak Tramway – Take the aerial tram up the mountain for stunning views. There’s a restaurant called Ten 3 at the top (heard the scenery there is amazing, but we skipped it due to time). 🏨 Accommodation: Chaco Hotel – ~$285/night.This hotel is fantastic! It feels like a designer hotel from back home—super new and unique. Next to it, there’s a spot like a farmers’ market—perfect for a quick morning stroll the next day 🛒. Day 2: White Sands National Park 🏜️ Drive to White Sands: ~3.5 hours. We stayed until after sunset—warm golden light hitting the white dunes was absolutely breathtaking ! We explored the Alkali Trail (by car). 🏨 Accommodation: Home2 Suites by Hilton – ~$170/night. Day 3: Carlsbad Caverns → Roswell 🪨👽 Carlsbad Caverns National Park Drive time: ~3.5 hours. This is a cave national park—advance reservations are required! Don’t forget to book ahead. Roswell: Drive time: ~1.5 hours. This quirky “alien town” has small museum-style attractions. We stayed here just to break up the long drive (no need to rush!)—it’s a perfect midway stop. 🏨 Accommodation: TownePlace Suites Roswell – ~$160/night. Day 4: Roswell → Taos ⛰️ Drive to Taos: ~4.5 hours. Stop along the way: Rio Grande Gorge Bridge – The snow-capped mountain backdrop here is stunning—definitely worth a photo op 🌉❄️. Spend the rest of the day wandering around downtown Taos—small-town charm at its best. 🏨 Accommodation: A budget hotel nearby – Not recommended (skip it if you can!). Day 5: Bandelier National Monument → Ten Thousand Waves 💆 Bandelier National Monument: Drive time: ~1.5 hours. There’s a gentle hiking trail here—easy to walk, no intense effort needed. Great for a casual morning outdoors 🚶. Ten Thousand Waves (Japanese Onsen): Drive time: ~1 hour. We didn’t stay overnight—just booked a private onsen session. Cost: ~$85/person. Total relaxation after a day of exploring 🛁. Day 6: Return to ABQ Airport ✈️ Drive back to ABQ Airport: ~1 hour. End of the relaxing New Mexico trip! #NewMexico #WhiteSands #SpringBreak #WorldTravel #FujiDirectOutput #SnowMountains
