New Mexico | Where to Buy Souvenirs in New Mexico 🛍️
🏞️ Among the national parks, Bandelier National Monument is definitely the most fun to explore! Recommend setting aside at least half an hour. Between the two cities, Santa Fe and ABQ: For artist-made works, head to Santa Fe 🎨. For stones and locally-themed art, check out Old Town in ABQ. There’s one super highly recommended shop—more on that later! Santa Fe 📸 Figures 1-3: Everything is made by local artists! We visited during the Labor Day Market and bought a shadow box from a grandpa artist and a cyanotype + painting from a grandma artist 👵. The grandma was super enthusiastic and loved sharing stories. We took our time choosing, and she was incredibly patient. Bandelier National Monument The souvenir and cultural creative products here are amazing—couldn’t stop myself! 🏷️ Postcards, stickers, even tokens… bought two! After buying postcards, there’s a stamping station outside. A complete and satisfying experience! ✨ White Sands National Park Honestly felt the design and selection were somewhat limited, but there was a pretty ornament 🎍. Looked closely and each one had slight differences—probably hand-painted. Brought one home! ABQ Never expected a layover city to be so fun! Old Town is perfect for a relaxed day of exploring. ️ Before going to other shops, make sure to visit Romero Street Gallery! The collection of artist works and displays here are clearly curated with great care. And the prices are super reasonable!!! 💰 At other places, I picked two small stones for $75—here, extremely detailed keychains were $40. Yes, please! 😍 Also featuring handcrafted silver bracelets and necklaces by local artists—all beautiful. The best part? The staff are grandmas who enthusiastically show you around, share cool finds like interchangeable bead rings, and patiently explain the types of stones. Top marks for selection, price, and experience! 🔝 There’s also a shop at the entrance of Old Town specializing in pottery 🏺. We considered buying later, but the owner heard us coughing and immediately offered us free water 💧. We ended up rushing back before closing to buy a pot. This artist’s pottery isn’t available elsewhere (we didn’t see it in other shops). Other stores might seem a bit rustic or overly flashy, but almost every small shop has something unique—like postcards or fridge magnets. So don’t worry if it looks small at first glance. Keep your eyes 👀 open, and you’ll find adorable souvenirs! #NewMexico #TravelNewMexico #WhiteSandsNP #NewMexicoGuide #WhiteSandsNationalPark #NewMexicoTravelDiary #NewMexicoRoadTrip
