New Mexico · Authentic Mexican Cuisine|A Food Journey Along the Road

Road tripping through the border region of New Mexico and Texas, eating along the way—whether it’s Mexican food or Texas BBQ, everything is full of local flavor. 🥩 The State Line BBQ【@El Paso】:An authentic all-you-can-eat BBQ spot in a small town on the U.S.-Mexico border. Their huge beef ribs and flavorful sausages are my favorites, and you can get unlimited refills—great value!🤣 🥩 Carniceria San Juan de Los Lagos【@Carlsbad】:Though real Mexicans say Mexican food in New Mexico isn’t the real deal... but for us, it’s authentic enough! Beef tacos, shrimp tacos, and stir-fried veggies (with some special spices we couldn’t identify) were all delicious.❤️ 🥩 Zu Hot Pot【@Albuquerque】:Albuquerque may be the most populous city in New Mexico, but finding Chinese food or hot pot in the resource-scarce Midwest is no easy task. We won’t complain too much about the taste though! The owner is from Taiwan, and their popcorn chicken is pretty good.😒 🥩 Denny‘s【@Albuquerque】:Didn’t expect Denny’s in New Mexico to serve such great breakfasts—all with a local twist! 🥩 Del Charro【@Santa Fe】:A local pub in Santa Fe where we had some late-night snacks and drinks. The vibe was fantastic, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the Green Chile Soup and Nachos Royale. Green chile is a local specialty here—it makes the soup incredibly flavorful, and the nachos paired surprisingly well with cheesy chicken! 🥩 Dumpling Tea【@Santa Fe】:A Chinese restaurant in Santa Fe specializing in noodles and dumplings. The aunty makes them fresh—the dumplings are huge, generously stuffed, and so tasty! 🥩 La Choza Restaurant【@Santa Fe】:On our last day, we had super authentic Mexican food in Santa Fe. We waited in a long line—everyone came because of its reputation. The most amazing dishes were the two soups: Green Chile Stew and Green Chile Clam Chowder. With light snow falling outside, having a warm bowl of soup was pure bliss. Green chile is truly a magical ingredient! Their fish tacos and various chicken/pork/beef combination plates were also fantastic. #NewMexico #TravelNewMexico #SantaFe #FoodieGuide 🍴🌮🔥
