New Mexico Food Guide 🌮 | No-Regret Eats in ABQ + Santa Fe

I had zero expectations for New Mexico food before this trip — but wow, was I surprised! 😍 Delicious, affordable, and full of flavor. Definitely one of the highlights of my journey. 🥞 Santa Fe 📍 The Pantry A cozy Mexican brunch spot! 🌯 Their stuffed quesadilla and breakfast burrito (with chorizo + Christmas-style red & green chili) are hearty and satisfying. The French toast came with chunky fruit jam — tangy and not too sweet. A great start to the day! 🥘 La Boca Wanted to try Geronimo (Top 5 US fine dining), but opted for tapas here — no regrets! 🦐 MEJILLONES – Mussels in coconut-spiked green sauce 🍤 GAMBAS AL AJILLO – Garlic shrimp with a zesty kick 🍖 LAMB ALBONDIGAS – Crispy yet tender lamb meatballs 🧀 TABLA MIXTA – Flavorful charcuterie board …even the panna cotta was silky smooth! 🌮 Adelitas Mexican Restaurant Super authentic — some staff barely speak English! ❌ Menudo (tripe soup) was too gamey for me… ✅ But the TACOS!! Especially beef tongue (Lengua) and pork stomach (Buche) — life-changing 🌮💥 Best I’ve had, even compared to Mexico. 🍣 Izanami Located inside Ten Thousand Waves Spa. Food was just okay — go for the ambience and convenience after soaking. Tried sashimi and stone-grilled wagyu. 🥟 Dumpling Tea Average Chinese spot. Dumplings and noodles were thick-skinned and bland. Maybe skip if you’re craving real Chinese flavors. 🌮 Albuquerque 📍 El Paisa No-frills street tacos 🌮! Cheap, tasty, and best enjoyed with horchata. (Just wish they used Mexican Coke for the full experience!) 🌯 Sadie’s Lively, generous portions! Their ribs and steak are flavorful and huge. The complimentary chips and salsa (tangy and spicy!) are addictive — we finished three bowls 😋. 🍹 Sawmill Market A stylish food hall near Old Town. Great when you can’t decide — phở, tacos, ribs, pasta, taiyaki ice cream… something for everyone! This trip turned me into a New Mexican food believer 🌶️❤️ Can’t wait to go back and eat my way through again! #FoodTravel #NewMexicoEats #SantaFeFood #ABQEats #MexicanFood #TravelEats #FoodieDiary
