New Omakase at New York's LIC spotted with purple sea urchin! 50šŖ
This omakase spot in New York is tucked away on the second floor of a food court in LICāsuch an unassuming little shop, but it gave me a huge surprise! 𤩠š Value for Money š Every piece of fish is incredibly freshāseriously, the value is off the charts! The lunch omakase is 10 courses for $50, which works out to just $5 per pieceāunbelievable, right?! 10 courses is a bit on the small side, but adding another two pieces will leave you pretty full. For dinner, itās 12 courses for $68āstill a total steal! š Dining Experience š The chef takes great care to introduce the characteristics of each fish, and heās so warm and approachable! The pleasant surprise? He wears gloves 𧤠while making the sushi! That level of attention to hygiene is so reassuringāit makes you feel totally at ease! š„¹ š Favorite Pieces š ćPurple UnićUnlike sea urchin, purple uni is light and refreshing with a hint of sweet aroma. I donāt remember having it beforeāitās really special! ćBluefin Tuna OtoroćThe bluefin tuna otoro is rich in fat and melts in your mouth! The fish and the vinegared rice are at the same temperature, so the fishās aroma wraps around every grain of riceāperfectly harmonious! ćSpotted MackerelćItās different from the usual mackerelāit has a sticky, gelatinous texture! Plus, with the smoky flavor, itās so fragrant! ćTuna Hand RollćDelicious and not greasy at all! Because itās mixed with three types of tuna (lean, medium, and fatty) and pickled cucumber! š Special Touch š I think theyāre really good at controlling the temperature of the sushi! Both the fish and the vinegared rice are slightly warm, kept at the same temperature! When my partner was waiting for me to take photos... Chef šØāš³: āDonāt wait! Itāll get cold!ā ā³ļø Sushi Nikko NY 28-17 Jackson Ave 2nd Flr, Queens, NY 11101 #NewYork #NYC #NYCFood #NewYorkFoodGuide #NYCFoodReview #NYCSushi #NYCOmakase #NewNYCOmakase #NYCLIC #LICFood #AffordableNYCJapanese #NYCAffordableEats #DeliciousNYCJapaneseFood
