New Orleans | 4 Days & 3 Nights | Day 1️⃣ French Quarter Itinerary
Itinerary Overview: Arrive in NOLA → Drop off luggage → Lunch at Luke → Shop & take photos on Royal St → Jackson Square + Cafe Du Monde → French Market → Dinner at Hot N Cajun → Bourbon Street → Mahogany Jazz Hall 🏨 Accommodation Highly recommend staying in Downtown/French Quarter—it’s close to the French Quarter, so you can easily walk or take a taxi there 🚕. 🍽 Lunch: Luke (Highly Recommended! 🌟) On weekdays, they offer a Lunch Express Menu (quick and convenient for travelers). Daily Happy Hour runs from 3-6 PM (friends who went for Happy Hour said the oysters were smaller than the ones we had at lunch—stick to lunch if you want bigger oysters!). Gulf Oysters ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: The biggest oysters I’ve ever had—truly palm-sized! Super fresh, and they burst with rich seafood flavor 🦪. Jumbo LA Shrimp & Grits ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: If you want to share, just tell the server—they’ll help split it into separate plates, which is so thoughtful! I used to only have sweet grits for breakfast, but this combination of shrimp and savory grits was a total surprise. So delicious, don’t miss it! Seafood Gumbo ⭐️⭐️⭐️: I ordered it because “you have to try gumbo in the South.” We added extra crawfish, but the taste was like “soy sauce soup with rice”—way too salty for my liking. 🚶 French Quarter Walking & Photo Route Royal St.: Filled with antique shops and iron balconies—perfect for photos (every corner looks like a postcard 📸!). Next, head to LaBranche House: It’s iconic for its classic French iron balconies—stop here for a must-take shot! Walk along St Peter St to Jackson Square (home to St. Louis Cathedral)—the square’s historic vibe is so charming. Then, visit Cafe Du Monde: Try their iced latte and beignets (powdered sugar goodness! 🧁). ⚠️ Important: Bring cash—they prefer it! Finally, walk along Decatur St to French Market: It has handmade stalls and souvenir shops, but if you’re in a hurry, you can skip it (it’s pretty touristy). 🦞 Dinner: Hot N Cajun (Cajun-Style Seafood Feast) They serve seafood in big bags—juicy and full of flavor! Pro tip: Add sausage—it soaks up all the spices and makes the meal even better 🌭. 🌈 Evening Stroll on Bourbon Street Neon lights, cocktails, and live music everywhere 🎶. But be aware: There are often drunk people and homeless folks at night, so it’s best to go with friends (safety first! 🤝). 🎷 Mahogany Jazz Hall (Jazz Lovers, Don’t Miss This!!) You can’t visit New Orleans without listening to jazz! We loved this spot—order a drink, sit back, and enjoy live jazz all night long 🥃. They post the schedule at the door, and it’s nice to bring cash for tips. #NewOrleans #NOLA #NOLAFood #NewOrleansTravel
