New Orleans | City Walk
This time of year, New Orleans is either scorching hot or pouring rain—but the city is still perfect for a slow-paced City Walk! Every shop has super strong AC, creating a "freezing inside, boiling outside" contrast 🔥❄️. No matter where you go, the city feels like it has its own background music 🎶—it gives off a vibe that’s both wildly carefree and incredibly laid-back, and everyone seems to be in such a great mood 😊. ⛲️ French Quarter We hit a sudden shower, so we only wandered around the spots near Jackson Square during the breaks in the rain. Still, we got great photos at those popular "Instagram-worthy" spots 📷! Unfortunately, St. Louis Cathedral closes at 4 PM—we got there too late and couldn’t go inside, which was a bummer. But on the bright side, the Jazz Clubs and restaurants we wanted to visit were all within walking distance. Walking down Bourbon Street, it’s so lively—drums and music fill the air! It’s also where I saw the most police officers and patrol cars in my life 👮🚓—it feels like a "seize the day" (Carpe Diem) vibe, like a lively, end-of-the-world-style celebration. 🍸 Sazerac House Highly recommend this cocktail museum! You can just walk in—no reservation needed. They have a self-guided tour that tells the history and making process of various cocktails originated in New Orleans. Plus, you get three free drink samples to try: Sazerac: A bit strong 🥃 Rangoon Gimlet: Refreshing, sweet, and tangy 🍋 Huapala: Tropical, sweet cocktail flavor 🌺 🚢 Riverwalk In the evening or after rain, it’s so nice to walk along the Mississippi River and feel the breeze. We even saw a steamboat performing a "jet version" of The Entertainer 🤹🏻♂️, and there were street musicians playing everywhere 🎶—super chill, with maxed-out atmosphere! If you’re not in a hurry, take a ride on the streetcar 🚃 (P.S. Bring some change with you 💰)! It has AC, goes about as fast as a walk, and even stops to let people and cars pass—total laid-back vibes 🔝. #NewOrleans #NewOrleansTravel #CityMemories #NOLA
