New Orleans | Food Review – A Lunch Spotted from a Billboard 🍽️✨
📍Red Fish Grill 115 Bourbon St, New Orleans, LA 70130 Right after landing, I spotted a billboard for Red Fish Grill—so of course, I had to check it out! 🚖✈️ Took a Lyft for about 30 minutes to get there. They checked vaccine records at the door—great to see New Orleans taking COVID safety seriously! 👍🏻😷 Let’s talk food… 🥖 Bread & Butter in a Paper Bag The bread came in a paper bag with butter… and it was not good. 🥴 Drier than old-school Chinese bakery bread, with a crumbly, loose texture—you can imagine the rest. Rating: 0/5 ❌ 🍴 Appetizer - BBQ Oysters If you’re not into blue cheese, steer clear! The cheese flavor is super strong, and it looks like they mix in other cheeses too. The fried oysters themselves were fragrant and well-cooked, but the heavy sauce and fine scallions (I don’t eat scallions or cilantro 😅) made it a bit overwhelming. Rating: 2.5/5 🦪🧀 🍴 Entrées 1) Crawfish Cakes & Eggs This came with purple sweet potato, regular sweet potato, onion, and green pepper. The egg was runny—which I usually love—but they topped it with a sour sauce that totally killed the vibe. 😤 The dish was just okay overall, but the roasted sweet potatoes were deliciously sweet! Rating: 3/5 🥔🍠 2) Wood Grilled Bay Snapper & Gulf Shrimp Snapper + shrimp + onion + potatoes = the only dish I genuinely enjoyed! 🙌 It highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients, enhanced with light spices. Simple but well-executed! Rating: 3.5/5 🐟🍤 🍴 Dessert Double Chocolate Bread Pudding If I could do it over, I’d ask for the chocolate sauce on the side. The double chocolate ice cream was way too rich for someone like me who drinks bubble tea unsweetened! 🍫😅 But the warm brownie at the bottom? Sweet, gooey, and seriously tasty. The ice cream on top was delicious too—just really intense. Rating: 3.5/5 🍮❤️ Have you ever tried a dish that was just too rich for your taste? Or found a hidden gem because of a random ad?
